TOP TEN GARDEN JOBS FOR THIS MONTH

 

Plant out tulip and daffodil bulbs - cover with at least twice their depth in compost to soil

 

Plant trees, shrubs and roses

 

Cut back faded perennials

 

Start protecting borderline hardy plants such as agapanthus, with  mulch. If in a pot, move to a sheltered spot

 

Raise the height of your mower’s cutting blades as the grass growth slows down

 

Provide food, shelter and water for wildlife

 

Raise pots off the ground with pot feet to prevent water logging

 

Protect tall plants from the wind. Roses can be cut right back, others may need supporting with canes

 

Clear falling leaves from your lawn to keep it healthy using a light rake

 

Plant out Winter bedding for colourful containers, borders and baskets for colour all Winter
